Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a number of changes against Gillingham.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told BBC Radio London that he will make a number of changes for their match against Gillingham on Wednesday.
Spurs have had a demanding schedule so far this season, with a number of midweek matches already having taken place.
The Lilywhites have no let up over the coming weeks, either, with the fixtures coming thick and fast.
And Pochettino is eager to use the opportunity to give some of his more vital players a rest against Gillingham.
“Of course,” the Argentine boss responded, when asked whether Spurs would be making a lot of changes against Gillingham. “We have Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Harry Kane out.
“We have a strong squad and others can have the opportunity to play and show their quality.”
Tottenham have gone unbeaten in their first five Premier League matches, and the only blot of their copybook over the early weeks of the campaign is a defeat against Monaco in the Champions League.
Spurs will be the heavy favourites to beat Gillingham in the League Cup, but will have to guard against complacency.
Justin Edinburgh’s side have started their campaign inconsistently, and currently sit in 13th place in the League One table.
