Tottenham manager Pochettino has admitted that there may not be any new signings this summer.

Pochettino told Football.London when asked how many signs he expects to make before the summer transfer window closes: “Last season I told you some numbers, but this season we don’t know.

“I don’t know if we are going to sign or not. We’re working on that. I cannot tell you if we’re going to sign one, zero or two or three or four.”

Worrying for Tottenham Hotspur fans

Tottenham are among the clubs who will aim to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

While their challengers have made some major signings and have strengthened their squads, the North London outfit have stood still.

While Manchester United United have signed Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant, Liverpool have recruited Xherdan Shaqiri among others.

Arsenal have brought in a number of players including Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno, and Chelsea have added Jorginho to their squad.

Even Manchester City, who were head and shoulders above the rest of the teams in the Premier League last season, have strengthened their squad, bringing in Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City.

True, Tottenham already have a strong squad and a settled starting lineup, but Spurs are in danger of standing still if they do not make signings while the rest of the big teams in England move forward.
