Tottenham Hotspur will face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday.
The North London outfit will kick off their 2017-18 Premier League campaign with an away game against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs will head into the match against the Magpies at St. James’ Park as favourites, but there is a question mark on the right-back position.
The departure of Kyle Walker to Manchester City in the summer transfer window means that Kieran Trippier is now the first-choice right-back.
However, the former Burnley defender is injured at the moment, and Pochettino has suggested how he could fill that gap.
The Tottenham manager has stated that he could deploy 20-year-old Kyle Walker-Peters at right-back if he goes with a back-four, or use Sissoko as a wing-back, meaning that the France international midfielder could start against his former club Newcastle in a somewhat unusual position for him.
“We have the possibility to play with three at the back, or to use a back four,” Pochettino told Football.London when asked if he will have to change the system slightly with Trippier out.
“Different players like Kyle Walker-Peters in a back four or with three with Moussa Sissoko as a wing-back.”
Sissoko has been linked with a move away from Tottenham in the summer transfer window, having failed to make a massive impact at White Hart Lane last season following a move from Newcastle.
