Eric Dier has been at Tottenham Hotspur since 2014.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that Eric Dier has proved to be a fantastic signing for the club.
Dier joined Premier League outfit Tottenham from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £4 million.
The 23-year-old has established himself as an important player for Spurs, and has showcased his versatility by playing in defence and in midfield.
The former Sporting man has also featured in 17 international matches for England, scoring two goals in the process.
Pochettino has spoken highly of Dier, and has claimed that the midfielder has been a fantastic signing for Spurs.
“I think we created altogether a new style player,” Pochettino told Football.London about Dier. “He can play different roles.
“It’s fantastic, one of keys that flexibility he provides with his quality for the team. He’s been a fantastic signing for the club.”
Dier has proved to be a hugely important player for Tottenham and has been instrumental in the North London club’s progress on the pitch over the past three or so years.
Spurs are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 77 points from 34 matches, just four points behind leaders and London rivals Chelsea.
