Tottenham Hotspur should give Reo Griffiths his chance to impress against Leicester City later today.

Griffiths has been in scintillating form at youth level for Spurs this season, and looks like the next big talent to come off their production line.

The striker may just be 17, but he already looks far superior to many of the players in his age group.

Griffiths has hit a staggering 27 goals in 20 appearances for Tottenham’s under-18 squad, and that form should see him rewarded with a chance to feature against Leicester.

Tottenham’s match with the Foxes is effectively a friendly, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side sealed their place in the top four last week.

And by giving Griffiths a chance to feature, Pochettino could help convince the youngster to stay.

Tottenham are currently having a battle to tie the prospect down to a new contract.

Griffiths’ current deal expires at the end of the season, and there has been interest from abroad in his services.

But if Spurs show Griffiths that there is a pathway for him to break into their first-team it may be help to convince him to stick around.

And Pochettino would also be able to gauge whether Griffiths is ready to play a more regular role in his first-team next season.
