Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that he is relaxed about rumours surrounding the futures of Toby Alderweireld and Kyle Walker.

Spurs are enjoying a sensational run of form with nine Premier League wins in a row to their name, with Sunday’s 2-0 win over Arsenal meaning that they will finish above their North London rivals for the first time in more than 20 years.

Tottenham will still hope to catch Chelsea in the race for the Premier League table, but it looks like Mauricio Pochettino’s men will miss out on top spot for the second season in a row.

Spurs have been the best Premier League side over the last two years but have no silverware to show for it, and their exploits appear to be attracting major interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

The London Evening Standard reported earlier this week that right back Kyle Walker looks set to leave Tottenham this summer after holding talks with manager Mauricio Pochettino about his future.

Walker, 26, has established himself as first choice for club and country in recent times, but he has recently lost his place to Kieran Trippier with Spurs, and Manchester City are believed to be pushing to land Walker this summer, with Tottenham willing to listen to offers of around £35million.

Additionally, defender Toby Alderweireld – arguably the Premier League’s top centre back – is seeking a new contract worth more than £100,000-a-week according to the Daily Mail, with Spurs struggling to find an agreement with the Belgian internatonal.

Now, manager Pochettino has told Football.London that he is relaxed about the rumours as only time will tell whether both players leave – but he stopped short of saying that Walker is happy at Tottenham.

“A lot of rumours and you know I never speak about rumours,” said Pochettino. “There are many rumours about all the players. It is unhelpful that there are all these rumours? It’s not a good thing. because I think that Tottenham is the team most involved in the rumours. Yes, you see now in the last month, still two weeks to play and four games, there are many rumours. But it doesn’t affect me, I am so calm, the players are very calm. They all know what happens inside. It’s important our fans know that here is really calm. Rumours are rumours, we will see what happens at the end if they are true or not, like always in football. That is why I am so relaxed.”

“I cannot confirm this, because it’s rumours. If I speak about all the rumours, we will be in the press conference for two hours. I think it’s about football, we understand them but I can’t confirm anything because they’re rumours,” he added when asked if Walker is happy at White Hart Lane.
