Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has insisted to the Daily Mail that his relationship with Daniel Levy remains strong, despite his side’s poor start to the season.

Tottenham have disappointed so far this campaign, with their form worryingly poor.

Pochettino is now under more pressure than ever before at Spurs, with some fans even calling for him to be sacked.

Tottenham have crashed out of the League Cup, are yet to win in the Champions League, and were humiliated after being beaten 3-0 by Brighton & Hove Albion in their last league match.

But Pochettino insists that he maintains a strong relationship with Spurs chairman Levy and he has recently told him that he considers him to be a friend.

“We maintain a very good relationship and it is extraordinary to have that support,’ he said at the Aspire Global Summit in Qatar, as reported by the Daily Mail.

“I have always told him that in addition to my chairman, I consider him a friend.

“Football is not a drama, it is passion and we cannot separate it from emotions. But neither can we make a sport as fantastic as this one because of the latest result.”

Levy has also faced criticism in recent weeks, as there is a feeling that he hasn’t backed Pochettino enough in the transfer window during his time at Spurs.

Tottenham have the lowest net spend out of the top six clubs in the Premier League by a distance over recent years.

Spurs did invest over the summer, but their new additions have been unable to make much of an impact so far due to injury.
