Tottenham Hotspur are set to take on Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino has told Football London that he wants every member of Tottenham Hotspur’s match day squad in their team photograph before the Champions League final.

Tradition states that only the starting line-up should be involved in the team photo on the pitch, but Pochettino believes that does not reflect well on his Spurs squad.

The Argentine boss insists that every player in Tottenham’s 23-man match day squad in Madrid will be important.

And the Spurs manager wants his whole team to line-up on the pitch to be snapped before their match against Liverpool on Saturday.

“I was always tried to put the idea for this situation in finals to put the 23 or 24 before the game in the photo. Then of course the players stay or go to the bench,” he said.

“Psychologically players the players want to start, there will be 11 players on the wall [in the photo], but maybe one from the bench was more important. But after in history the photo of the 11 players shows. The players care a lot.

“When I was a player I cared. I think it should be a very good idea for Saturday for Tottenham to have the possibility before the game to take a picture of the 23. If they win they will be super heroes across the world, not only the 11.”

Pochettino faces the dilemma of having to drop one of Tottenham’s most important attackers against Liverpool.

One of Harry Kane, Lucas Moura, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen or Heung-Min Son is very likely to miss out on starting against Liverpool, unless Pochettino makes a big tactical tweak.

Tottenham and Liverpool have been closely matched on both occasions they have met in the Premier League this term, so having such attacking force on the bench is a huge boost for Spurs.

Tottenham have previously suffered badly with injuries this term, but look to have a fully fit squad to pick from at the weekend.
