Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media after his side’s 3-1 win over Fulham yesterday, and shared what Harry Kane told him after the game, having finally broken his August goalscoring duck for the club, as quoted by Football.London.

Kane, 25, is widely considered to be one of the most deadly strikers in world football, but up until yesterday, he had never scored for Spurs in the month of August – a quite remarkable statistic.

The England international has scored 141 goals in 215 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham, and he will be delighted that he has now got the August monkey off his back.

He will now surely be confident that he can go and and win this season’s Golden Boot.

Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday during his post-match press conference, and shared what Kane told him after the game, having scored Spurs’ third and final goal against Fulham, as quoted by Football.London:

“Yes, very happy for him. It’s very important for him to feel the net in that period because if not it becomes like a big drama for him. Now, he told me after the game ‘In the end I scored gaffer’. He knows. I think it’s good.”

Next up for Tottenham is a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United next Monday night, and Kane will be desperate to add to his tally on arguably world football’s biggest stage.
