Tottenham Hotspur earned a hard-fought win over Stoke City yesterday.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s 2-1 win away at Stoke City yesterday, and shared the one thing that disappointed him about his team’s performance, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs were by no means at their fluent best, but they dug in and produced the kind of display that all good teams are capable of producing when needed, and they stretched their lead over fifth placed Chelsea in the table to 11 points.
The Lilywhites have earned many plaudits for the manner in which they have gone about their business this season, and with an FA Cup semi final against Manchester United to look forward to, things are looking rosey for the north Londoners.
Pocchettino spoke to reporters after Tottenham’s win at the BET 365 Stadium, and admitted that he was not entirely satisfied with his side’s performance, as quoted by Football.London:
“I think overall we deserved the victory but it’s true that in the last ten minutes, they push a lot and they try to score and they create some chances. But in the end the victory was for us. Maybe a little disappointed with the last ten minutes but of course when you have the opponents who play to survive and they have quality players too you need to be available to suffer.”
Next up for Spurs is a home game against champions elect Manchester City, and Pochettino’s men will have to be at their very best, if they are to have any chance of taking maximum points from the contest.
