Tottenham Hotspur have done remarkably well in recent weeks without some of their key men.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters about his side’s fine recent run of form, and suggested that the only problem that he faces is the fact that he is only able to name 11 players, with so many quality names waiting in the wings, as quoted by BT Sport.

Spurs have been quite simply brilliant over this past month, winning four consecutive games in all competitions, and they are in with a real chance of winning both the Premier League title and the Champions League this season.

Tottenham’s ability to remain in contention to win both trophies has been made all the more impressive considering the fact that they have been without their two best players for the past month.

Pochettino spoke to reporters during the week, and highlighted how strong his Spurs squad actually is, suggesting that it is a shame that he cannot use all 22 players every week, as quoted by BT Sport:

“We have an unbelievable squad, I’m so happy with all the players, but the only problem that we have is that in every single game I can only pick 11 players, I cannot pick 22.”

Tottenham currently sit five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City and second placed Liverpool in the Premier League table, although they do have a game in hand on Pep Guardiola’s side.

They also have a great chance of progressing through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, after beating Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the first-leg of their last 16 clash.

Spurs seem to be on the verge of achieving something very special, but whether this season will be their year remains to be seen.
