Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has commented on the difference between Spurs and the two Manchester giants.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told TEAMtalk that Manchester City and Manchester United sign who they want, when they want – and Tottenham just can’t do that.

Spurs return from the international break looking to continue their Premier League form, having beaten Huddersfield Town 4-0 before the break.

Tottenham have a 100% winning record away from home this term, but their form at Wembley has been something of an issue, having taken just two points from three games at their temporary home.

Pochettino’s men are back at Wembley this weekend as they take on Bournemouth, with the Spurs boss hoping to make it six games unbeaten in the Premier League.

Spurs currently sit third in the Premier League table, five points behind Manchester City and Manchester United, and need to try and close the gap to their titles rivals.

Whilst City take on Stoke City this weekend in a game Pep Guardiola will be expecting to win, United face a tricky trip to face rivals Liverpool on Saturday afternoon, with Spurs hoping to make ground on both teams.

Both Manchester giants splashed the cash over the summer, with City bringing in Ederson, Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker, Danilo and Bernardo Silva, whilst United snapped up Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku.

Spurs didn’t get to spend nearly as much, and manager Pochettino has told TEAMtalk that the massive difference between Spurs and the two Manchester giants is that they can ‘sign who they want, when they want’ – but Tottenham don’t have the same luxury.

“The difference these days between clubs in the Premier League is that there are clubs, like City and United, who sign who they want and when they want,” Pochettino said. “Then there are big teams, like us, who sign when we can and who we can. It’s the big difference today,” he added.
