Inter Milan beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in the Champions League last night.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Inter Milan in the Champions League last night, and shared one thing that really angered him about their display, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs actually started the game in the San Siro really well, and dominated proceedings for the first 60-70 minutes, before conceding two late goals to Luciano Spalletti’s side.
Poch brought on Harry Winks in the 72nd minute, in an effort to bolster the middle of the park, but it actually ended up working against his side, providing the hosts with more impetus to attack Michel Vorm’s goal.
The Argentine spoke to reporters after the game, and responded when asked if his side’s defending for Inter’s second goal angered him, as quoted by Football.London:
“Yes, it’s not about learning or working on the training ground. Sometimes you need some luck too and to take the right decision in the right moment. Of course it’s so cruel. I think the team deserves much more and I think it was our best performance since the start of the season.”
Next up for Tottenham is a trip to Brighton on Saturday, and nothing less than a win will do, if they are to get their season back on track.
