Mauricio Pochettino has become renowned for bringing young talent through to the first-team at Tottenham Hotspur.
During a wide-ranging interview with Sky Sports, broadcast at 10:53 am on December 21st, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino explained how he believes it is his duty to continue to provide the opportunity for the club’s youngsters to play in the first-team.
The Argentine has given chances to the likes of Harry Kane and Harry Winks throughout his tenure at White Hart Lane, and he is adamant that bringing more young stars through the ranks at Tottenham will be his priority, whilst he is manager at the club.

Pochettino told Sky Sports:
“I think it is always important to believe in the younger players, and then to use them. Here, we have a fantastic academy, and I think it is our priority to give the possibility to one day to be on the first team, like Harry Kane.”
The problem for a club like Tottenham, is that the expectation levels are so high, that anything else than a fourth place finish is deemed as a failure, and that is not the easiest environment in which to introduce youngsters into the first-team fold.

Pochettino will surely be given as much time as he wants and needs to develop his playing squad, however, and judging by the opportunities he has given youngsters in the past, the Spurs academy must be an exciting place to be at the moment.
