Tottenham Hotspur were quite simply not good enough against Burnley yesterday.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters after his side’s 2-1 defeat to Burnley yesterday, and highlighted five key areas where his players must improve, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs had a great chance to put some real pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City above them in the Premier League table yesterday, but they eventually fell short, losing to Sean Dyche’s stubborn Clarets side.
On the whole, Tottenham have been mightily impressive this season, but they always seem to struggle when the pressure is really on, and it is hard to pinpoint what the north London outfit actually need to improve upon in order to make the jump up to the next level.
Pochettino addressed the media after yesterday’s defat, and delivered his verdict on his side’s display, highlighting five key areas where they must improve, as quoted by Football.London:

“The most important thing is to see inside yourself, we need to improve, we need to defend better, we need to play better, we need to be better in possession, we need to improve our quality, we need to be stronger.”
Tottenham do not have much time to feel sorry for themselves, however, with a trip to Stamford Bridge to take on bitter rivals Chelsea next up on the agenda.
And a victory against the Blues would quickly banish the memories of yesterday’s woeful defeat to Burnley.
