Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sat down for an exclusive interview with club legends Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa, and opened up on how he prepares his team ahead of matches, sharing the final message he gives to his players before they take to the field, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Tottenham have enjoyed a successful Premier League campaign thus far, and currently sit in second position in the table, four points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, with five league games still to be played.
And the Lilywhites boss deserves great credit for the manner in which he has gone about his business during his time in charge at White Hart Lane.
Pochettino was joined by Spurs greats Ardiles and Villa for an exclusive interview for TottenhamHotspur.com, and lifted the lid on the message he always gives his players before they enter the field of play:

“My last sentence before we go to play is always ‘enjoy the game’. That is most important. Feel free to play. We work a lot, it’s true, to prepare but after that, trust in yourself, trust in your team-mate and enjoy football. When you first played football as a child it was always the ball and the game and that emotion. We are prepared to feel that emotion on Sunday.”
With Chelsea playing before Tottenham tomorrow, Pochettino’s side could find themselves seven points adrift of the league leaders before they take on Arsenal in the eagerly anticipated North London Derby.
If they are to have any chance whatsoever of overhauling the Blues, they will most probably need to win all of their remaining games, and judging by the way they have been playing of late, they are well capable of doing just that.
