Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Marcus Edwards has picked up an injury.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told the Hertfordshire Mercury that wonderkid Marcus Edwards has suffered an ankle injury, ruling him out until around December.
Spurs are in EFL Cup action on Tuesday night, as they travel up to Merseyside to take on Premier League rivals Liverpool at Anfield, with a place in the last eight up for grabs.

Tottenham will be desperate to grab a win having drawn each of their last three games in all competitions, scoring just once but keeping two clean sheets, with many criticising their performances since the international break.
Tuesday’s game gives Pochettino the chance to rotate his side, and he has told Sky Sports that winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is set for his first start for the club since joining from Marseille on deadline day.
“Maybe [N’Koudou will start too],” said Pochettino. “I am thinking that maybe I will give him the opportunity to start the game.”

However, one player that Spurs fans may have wanted to see, Marcus Edwards, won’t be in action having suffered an injury.
Edwards, 17, is Tottenham’s latest hot prospect to come up through the ranks, and the diminutive left-footed playmaker with superb dribbling ability and close control has even earned comparisons to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
Edwards made his professional debut against Gillingham in the last round of the EFL Cup, and there were hopes that he could play some part against Liverpool too.

However, manager Pochettino today confirmed to the Hertfordshire Mercury that Edwards suffered a twisted ankle last week, and will be out for up to seven weeks, meaning he will only return around Christmas.
“He’s injured, he got an injury the day before in Leverkusen and he twisted his ankle,” said Pochettino. “He’s recovering from his injury and is not available for six or seven weeks now,” he added.
