Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that Daniel Levy feels sorry for Tottenham Hotspur fans over the stadium situation.

Levy has come under great criticism from Tottenham supporters this season, following disruption to their move.

Spurs were expected to be in their new ground for the start of this campaign, but there is still no official move in date set.

Tottenham’s switch of stadiums has been severely delayed, with Pochettino’s side still playing their home games at Wembley currently.

And Pochettino said: “I cannot ask more from our fans. They are fantastic and will be fantastic. We cannot expect more. We the club, and first Daniel [Levy] we feel sorry for them because we and they expected to be in the new stadium in that moment but it wasn’t possible.

“Only we can be grateful for them because to be at Wembley and support the team is so tough. For us it’s tough, but for our fans it’s tougher than it is for us.”

At the moment it appears that Tottenham’s most likely move in date to their new ground is February.

However, Spurs do face the possibility of spending the whole season at Wembley, which would be a huge disappointment to Lilywhites fans.

Tottenham have coped fairly well with the disruption over their move on the pitch so far, and have still made a bright start to the season.

Tottenham are currently in the top four in the Premier League, with their next match coming against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League this evening.
