Chelsea have been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld in the summer transfer window.

Alderweireld is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and is a key figure in the current Spurs team.
The Belgium international has been on the books of the North London outfit since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Spanish club Atletico Madrid for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £11.5 million.
The 28-year-old’s current contract with the North London outfit runs until June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, but he has been linked with a move away from Spurs in the summer transfer window.

According to The Times, Chelsea have made an inquiry regarding Alderweireld’s interest in leaving Tottenham this summer.
Tottenham have also signed Davinson Sanchez from Ajax this summer for a transfer fee that could reach £38.4 million, according to Football.London.
Sanchez is 21 years of age and operates as a central defender, and given the transfer fee that Spurs have (reportedly) paid for him, he is unlikely to be a bit-part player this season.

Tottenham manager Pochettino has revealed that he has spoken to Alderweireld, and that the defender is happy at the club.
“There’s nothing to relate [the two players],” Pochettino told Football.London on Friday. “Today, I was talking for one hour with Toby. He is so happy here. The club now is so busy trying to add more quality to the team.
“It’s true that Davinson is more competition for our centre-backs but it can only be good. No doubt, when the window finishes, Daniel will try to work and make happy every single player of the club.”
