The Tottenham Hotspur defender is still yet to make a Premier League appearance this season.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media during his pre-match press conference yesterday, and raved about the quality of Juan Foyth, insisting that the young defender will surprise a lot of people over the coming years, as quoted by Football.London.
The 20-year-old joined Tottenham from Estudiantes in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £8 million, but has been scarcely used by Pochettino, making just seven appearances in all competitions so far this season.

The move from Argentina to the Premier League is obviously a big step for someone so young, and Foyth must be given time to adjust to the tempo and robust nature of the English game.
Pochettino found time to praise the young centre-back, when speaking to reporters yesterday, highlighting how he has the quality to become one of the best centre-backs in world football, as quoted by Football.London:

“We need to think of Juan Foyth, he is 20 now and a great talent too. He only needs time to adapt himself to the Premier League,” explained the Tottenham boss. He is going to surprise many people. Juan is a great kid with a lot of quality to become one of the fantastic centre-backs in the Premier League and Europe too.”
Spurs are still competing on three different fronts this season, but Pochettino chose to omit Foyth from his Champions League squad, in order to accommodate new arrival Lucas Moura, so the young Argentine’s only real chance of first-team football will be in the FA Cup.
At just 21-years-old, though, there is no rush for the former Estudiantes centre-back to come good, and patience will be key for both him, and the club’s fans with regards to his continued development.
