The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been in fine form this season.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media last night, after his side’s vital 1-0 win over Inter Milan, and offered high words of praise for Moussa Sissoko, suggesting that the Frenchman is better in possession that he thought he was, as quoted by Football.London.

The 29-year-old joined Spurs from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2016, for a club record fee of £30 million, and he initially struggled to establish himself in north London.

Sissoko has been a breath of fresh air this season, however, and is beginning to prove his worth to Pochettino’s Tottenham side.

His power and pace in the middle of the park offers the Argentine something that little bit different, and the fact that now he is a shoe-in to start against Arsenal on Sunday is evidence of his turnaround in fortunes.

Poch spoke to reporters, and didn’t hold back when praising the France international, as quoted by Football.London:

“His contribution is a fantastic thing for the team in a period when we need this type of performance. He provides the team a very good balance in transitions and defensive situations and plays in possession better than we thought. That shows that being professional and working hard you can improve a lot.”

Tottenham have some vitally important games coming up, with matches against Arsenal and Barcelona on the horizon, and Sissoko will surely have a key role to play against both clubs.

The Frenchman began his career with Spurs as nothing more than a scapegoat, or even a total flop, but his transformation this term has been clear for all to see.
