Tottenham Hotspur travel to St Mary’s to take on Southampton on Saturday.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday, and suggested that Kieran Trippier will not be available for selection due to a muscle strain, as quoted by Football.London.
The England international played for Spurs against Arsenal on Saturday, but was missing from Pochettino’s squad that travelled to Germany to take on Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
Trippier hasn’t quite been himself this season, and he has received criticism for his performances from some sections of the Tottenham fanbase.
Serge Aurier filled in for the 28-year-old against Dortmund, and it seems as though Poch will be forced to use the Ivorian once again at the weekend.
The Tottenham boss spoke to reporters today, and confirmed that Trippier will not be fit in time to play against Southampton, as quoted by Football.London:

“I think Trips, no (for Southampton). He suffered a small problem and I think he will be out.”
The former Burnley ace’s injury might have just come at the right time. He was in the midst of a really poor run of form for Tottenham, and the time away from the limelight might actually do him the world of good.
