Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday during his pre-match press conference, and admitted that Danny Rose could miss his side’s clash with Burnley due to illness, as quoted by Football.London.

Rose, 28, has made 15 Premier League appearances for Spurs this season, and despite the fact that he has not been utilised regularly by Pochettino, he still remains an extremely important player for the club.

In fact, many Tottenham fans cannot understand why he does not start every week ahead of Ben Davies.

The Welshman has actually been out injured since January 24th, and Rose has been impressive when filing in for his teammate.

Pochettino told reporters how the Doncaster-born left-back might not be fit enough for tomorrow’s clash with Burnley due to illness, however, as quoted by Football.London:

“Danny yesterday was ill. Today’s he’s better. We’ll see because it’s true that you need full energy to play.”

If neither Rose nor Davies are fit to play tomorrow, Poch will most likely use Jan Vertonghen at left-back.

Tottenham desperately need all three points against Burnley, as they look to keep pace with the league leaders in the race for the title, but having Rose unavailable for selection will be a big blow for the north London outfit.
