Tottenham Hotspur take on Huddersfield Town this weekend, and Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that Hugo Lloris could be back for the game.

In comments reported by Football London, Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that Hugo Lloris could feature in Spurs’ clash with Huddersfield this weekend – despite Tottenham announcing on their official website before the press conference that the Frenchman would miss the game through injury.
Lloris has not played for Spurs since the 3-0 victory over Manchester United at the end of August due to a thigh problem, with Michel Vorm initially taking the gloves before Paulo Gazzaniga came in for the Brighton clash.
The Argentinian kept his place and starred in the Carabao Cup victory over Watford on Wednesday. And when the club announced that Lloris would miss Saturday’s game due to injury, it appeared that Gazzaniga would keep his place. But Pochettino has insisted that nothing is decided yet as Lloris could still be involved.
“We need to assess him tomorrow. He’s doing very well. The decision will be tomorrow if he will be available to play against Huddersfield. If not we’re going to wait until Wednesday. It depends on tomorrow,” he said, as reported by Football London, when asked about Lloris.

“Sometimes we make a mistake in between the coordination and the communication. Sorry, maybe it was a miscommunication but we need to assess him tomorrow. We are going to decide tomorrow if he’s going to be available to play or not,” he added, when asked about the injury update from the club.
It would be a boost for Tottenham to have Lloris back if he is fully fit. Spurs took nine points from a possible nine when the captain was between the sticks and he still has to be considered one of the very best stoppers in the Premier League.

But Spurs fans appear to be having fewer and fewer concerns about the idea of Gazzaniga being involved. The former Southampton man has only appeared a handful of times, but has been superb in each appearance.
And with Lloris clearly closing in on a return, Gazzaniga would surely relish one more chance to stake another claim to Pochettino before he drops out of the team.
