Mauricio Pochettino has revealed to Football London that Tottenham Hotspur Mousa Dembele was the man down to take the fifth penalty, had it have been needed.

Spurs’ match with Watford went to spot kicks last night, but they only needed four penalties to progress.

Dele Alli scored the winning spot kick, with Tottenham converting all of their shots from 12 yards.

And when asked who was down to take the fifth penalty, Pochettino said: “Mousa Dembele.”

Dembele was only substituted on last night, but he helped Spurs turn the game around.

Tottenham had fallen 1-0 down against Watford, as they looked in danger of falling to yet another defeat.

However, Spurs fought back with goals from Alli and Erik Lamela to put them in the lead.

Watford did strike a late leveller, but Pochettino’s men eventually progressed to the fourth round in nervy fashion.
