The Tottenham Hotspur star’s current deal expires in the summer of 2020.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media yesterday ahead of his side’s clash with Chelsea at Wembley Stadium tomorrow, and suggested that it will be fantastic if Christian Eriksen agrees to sign a new long-term deal with the club, as quoted by Football.London.
The 26-year-old’s current deal with Spurs expires in the summer of 2020, and if he fails to put pen to paper on a new contract over the course of the next six months, the north London outfit might just be tempted into selling him, rather than risk losing him for nothing a year later.
Eriksen has been superb for Tottenham during his five-and-a-half year spell with the club, and has racked up an impressive 57 goals and 73 assists in 239 appearances in all competitions.
Pochettino spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference yesterday, and responded when asked whether he believes the Dane will sign a new contract with Spurs, as quoted by Football.London:

“Look, he knows, we know what we’re doing and of course we’re working hard. The club’s working to try to take the best decisions. Christian is going to take I think the decision that is best for him. We’re not worried. In football I’m never worried. But I prefer that he’s going to sign the new contract and spend a long time with Tottenham. It will be fantastic.”
Tottenham welcome Chelsea to Wembley tomorrow, and if they are to have any chance of beating their London rivals, Eriksen will surely have to be on his very best form.
