Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris made a costly error against Liverpool, but manager Mauricio Pochettino says that he will start against Crystal Palace.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told The Daily Mail that Hugo Lloris will start against Crystal Palace despite his mistake against Liverpool at the weekend.

Lloris’s late mistake against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday evening saw Tottenham lose the Premier League game 2-1.

The defeat has enhanced Spurs’ chances of dropping out of the top four of the Premier League this season.

Tottenham will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Crystal Palace at their ‘new’ White Hart Lane in the Premier League.

Ahead of the game, Spurs boss Pochettino has said that French goalkeeper Lloris will retain his place between the sticks.

“He is my captain and one of the best ‘keepers in the world,” Pochettino told The Daily Mail about Lloris. “There is no doubt Hugo is one of the best. He will be in the goal. No doubt.”

Good decision?

Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and although his mistake against Liverpool was costly, it is right of Pochettino to retain his faith in the 32-year-old former Nice and Lyon goalkeeper.

After all, in the current Tottenham squad, there is no goalkeeper who is better than Lloris.

Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 61 points from 31 matches.
