Tottenham Hotspur kick off their Champions League campaign with a trip to Inter Milan tomorrow.

Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing defeat to Liverpool on Saturday, and suggested it would be crazy for him to even contemplate leaving out Harry Kane against Inter Milan in the Champions League tomorrow night, as quoted by Sky Sports.

The 25-year-old striker is widely considered to be one of the best in the game, but he has looked rather sluggish so far this season, having played so much football over the past three or four years.

Kane’s under-par performances have coincided with a concerning run of form for Spurs, with two consecutive defeats mounting the pressure on Poch, after he failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window.

The Argentine spoke to reporters on Saturday, and responded when asked whether it would be prudent to rest the England international hitman against Inter tomorrow night, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“I think we would be crazy to think different. I don’t know what you expect from me, or what you think my answer should be. He’s one of the best strikers in the world. I don’t care that he wasn’t great [on Saturday]. He’s going to score goals and he’s going to perform in the way we want and we expect. No problem.”

It will be vital for Tottenham to kick off their Champions League campaign with a positive result against Inter, and Kane will have to be at his very best, if they are to stand any chance whatsoever of doing just that.
