Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media yesterday, ahead of his side’s clash with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, and discussed his feelings on the fact that Heung-Min Son will be missing for three weeks in January, but refused to suggest that he will dip into the transfer market because of the South Korean’s impending absence, as quoted by Football.London.

Spurs have been in excellent form this season, and they have been helped by Son’s brilliant performances thus far.

The 26-year-old has chalked up six goals and four assists in 21 appearances in all competitions, and Tottenham will undoubtedly miss the forward next month.

Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday, and responded when asked whether he will be forced to strengthen his squad in January, with Son set to miss three key games, as quoted by Football.London:

Heung-Min Son of Tottenham Hotspur and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur celebrates after Heung-Min Son of Tottenham Hotspur scored their sides second goal during the UEFA Champions League...

“I need to tell you that we knew from the beginning of the season that it would happen. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to change our minds. Signings don’t depend on the situation of Son.”

Tottenham are currently in a really strong position in the Premier League, and they face a vitally important six weeks ahead of them.

Only time will tell if Son’s absence proves to be costly, but Pochettino would surely be wise to bolster his ranks in January, if he truly wants to guide his side to a successful season.
