Toby Alderweireld has missed Tottenham Hotspur’s last four matches with injury.
Mauricio Pochettino has told Sky Sports that Toby Alderweireld could return for Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Arsenal at the weekend.
Alderweireld has missed Tottenham’s last four matches with injury, but he is edging closer to fitness now.
The Belgian international has started to return to light training, ahead of Spurs’ match against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.

Although Pochettino admits that Spurs’ match on Wednesday evening is likely to come too soon for Alderweireld, he is hopeful of having the 27-year-old back for the North London derby.
“We will see, it might be difficult for Bayer Leverkusen, but maybe Arsenal,” Pochettino said. “If not then they will be ready after international duty.”
In Alderweireld’s absence, Eric Dier has generally filled in at centre-back.

Tottenham have kept clean sheets in two of their last four matches, but they did concede their first goal from open-play in the Premier League in a 1-1 draw against Leicester City last weekend.
If Tottenham are able to beat Leverkusen at Wembley on Wednesday evening, they will be in a good position to qualify from their Champions League group.
