Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that there is a chance Lucas Moura will start against Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday night.
Spurs are back in Premier League action on Tuesday as they travel down to the Amex Stadium, just days after their 3-1 thumping at the hands of Manchester City.
With Spurs still pursuing second place in the Premier League table, Pochettino may consider freshening his side up on Tuesday night, with changes potentially in the offing.
Serge Aurier, Son Heung-min and Victor Wanyama are just three players who may be looking to return to the starting line-up, with Lucas Moura also pushing.
The Brazilian wide man, snapped up from Paris Saint-Germain in January, looked bright off the bench against City on Saturday, with the 25-year-old enjoying a 17-minute cameo.
Moura has yet to start a Premier League game since his move, and fans are keen to see him starting on Tuesday night after flashing quality less than 48 hours ago.
Now, Spurs boss Pochettino has been asked about the chances of Moura starting against Brighton, and told Football.London that players are tired so Moura could now be in line to start, with the game possible a good opportunity for him to start from the off.
“Maybe it will be his opportunity to play a little bit more,” said Pochettino. “There are a lot of games still to play. Of course now maybe it’s a moment to rotate players that are tired. It’s been a tough season and we need fresh legs to get the objective. Yes, he’s one of the players who is working hard, trying to take the opportunity, maybe tomorrow is a good opportunity for him to play a little bit more,” he added.
