Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media yesterday, ahead of his side’s Carabao Cup clash with West Ham tonight, and provided a fitness update on Christian Eriksen, suggesting that the Dane is now fully fit, as quoted by Football.London.

The 26-year-old has been struggling with an injury over the past few weeks, and Spurs really miss his creative guile in the final third when he is out injured and unavailable for selection.

Eriksen joined Tottenham from Ajax in the summer of 2013, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £12.5 million, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of the club’s most important players, chalking up 57 goals and 72 assists in 236 appearances in all competitions.

Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday, and responded when asked whether the Denmark international is back to full fitness, as quoted by Football.London:

Christian Eriksen of Tottenham Hotspur poses with Manager Mauricio Pochettino while signing a new contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Training Ground on September 6, 2016 in Enfield, England.

“Yes he is fully fit. Another thing is to play well or not but he is fully fit.”

He then responded when asked if Eriksen will start against West Ham:

“Yes, maybe yes. I asked him to play 90 minutes against PSV Eindhoven, it was difficult again to overload him [against City] but I hope that he will ready to play Wednesday.”

Tottenham will be desperate to win tonight, but they will have their work cut-out at the London Stadium, with West Ham equally keen to do well in the cup competitions this season.
