Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly on the radar of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are interested in appointing Mauricio Pochettino of Tottenham Hotspur as their new manager and prefer him to former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Spanish and European giants Madrid are looking at Tottenham manager Pochettino as a potential replacement for current head coach Julen Lopetegui.

The defending Champions League winners are also reported to be looking at former Chelsea boss Conte, but their preference is claimed to be Pochettino.

No worry for Tottenham Hotspur fans

Pochettino is one of the best football managers in the world, and the Argentine has done a great job at Tottenham over the past few years, with the North London outfit consistently challenging for the Premier League title and playing in the Champions League.

One can understand Madrid’s reported interest in the Argentine who earns £8.5 million per year as salary, according to The Telegraph – but Spurs fans need not worry.

The Mirror has quoted Pochettino as saying that he does not plan to leave Tottenham for Madrid, suggesting that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may have the final say.

Pochettino said when asked about the Madrid speculation, as quoted in The Mirror: “When we move, I expect to move there. Only Daniel (Levy) can say ‘the club is going to move, but you gaffer no.’”

The Argentine boss added: “I don’t have social media, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, nothing, I don’t receive information.

“That’s why my head, my face, I look younger than I really am. Stuff like that happens in football. You can not change anything. It’s normal in this business.”
