In-form striker Harry Kane is priceless for Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino has suggested to Football London that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is the man to talk to if a club wants to sign Harry Kane.

The 24-year-old hitman is statistically the best goalscorer in Europe throughout the past 12 months after his 56 goals for club and country eclipsed even the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2017.

Kane, whose hat-trick against Southampton on Boxing Day saw him break Alan Shearer’s Premier League record for goals in a calendar year, is an outstanding striker who is only getting and better and his form is bound to attract bigger fish eventually.

You get the feeling that the longer Tottenham go without winning a trophy, the more vulnerable Spurs are to losing him, but Pochettino has told Football London that any and all enquiries must go to the Lilywhites chief.

When asked what would happen if a club “knocked on his door” for Kane, the 45-year-old said: “It’s easy for me. I say knock on Daniel Levy’s door. Go to see Daniel, not me. Easy for me, maybe for Daniel more difficult.”

If Kane – contracted to the North Londoners until 2022 – does leave Tottenham one day then at least it will be for a monumental transfer fee.

Problem is, even if they get, say, £300 million for him, who can they get to replace him? Kane is priceless and irrespective of the money, Spurs could and probably would suffer in the short term without his goals.
