Tottenham Hotspur beat Southampton 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that he thinks Serge Aurier’s red card against Southampton was ‘completely unfair’.
Spurs hosted Southampton on Saturday afternoon, and were in desperate need of a result having struggled in their three previous matches.
A Champions League draw at Olympiacos having been 2-0 up, a defeat at Leicester City having been 1-0 up and a shocking Carabao Cup exit to Colchester United had piled pressure on Pochettino.
His former club were in town on Saturday as Southampton made the trip to North London, and Spurs went in front through a deflected Tanguy Ndombele strike.
With Serge Aurier sent off for two yellow cards and Hugo Lloris committing a bizarre error to hand Danny Ings a goal, it looks like Spurs would once again shoot themselves in the foot.
However, Harry Kane put Spurs back in front before half time, and 2-1 is how it stayed as Tottenham claimed a vital three points, easing some pressure on Pochettino.
Aurier will be kicking himself though, as having only just regained a spot in the team, he’s now out again having picked up a silly red card.

After the game, Pochettino reacted to the decision and branded it ‘completely unfair’, believing it wasn’t a sending off at all as neither yellow card was justified, but didn’t blame referee Graham Scott.
“For me it was completely unfair, but it is for me now to talk because I watched the two actions,” Completely unfair, but I am not blaming the referee. This type of action happens, today it was against us.”
“When I watched the two actions both were not yellow cards. I can say now after we got the three points, but with a different result I would say the same and be honest. It wasn’t a sending off,” headded.
