Tottenham Hotspur got their Premier League campaign off to a winning start by beating Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
Tottenham won their first match of the season 2-0 against Newcastle United, and looked impressive in doing so.
Spurs may not have hit top gear, but they were always comfortable at St. James’ Park.

Despite Tottenham’s excellent start to the competitive campaign, Pochettino insists that he does still want new additions though.
“We are strong enough to compete in the same way as last season but, for me, we need to sign some players before the end of the transfer window,” Pochettino said.
“We have 10 months ahead, have four competitions and will need a lot of energy, more competition and more quality to help the team and keep the level that we want.”
Tottenham are the only team in the Premier League yet to make a signing so far this summer, with some frustrations expressed about their inactivity.
Spurs are expected to be active in the remaining weeks of the transfer window though, with Pochettino’s side working on a number of deals.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs are working on a deal to sign Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez.
Spurs’ next Premier League match comes against a Chelsea side, who will be hurting from an opening day defeat to Burnley.
