Harry Kane has been out since getting injured during the first-leg of Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League quarter-final.

In comments reported by Football London, Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Spurs are not optimistic that Harry Kane will return from injury this season, but suggested that the striker’s track record makes him believe that there is a chance.
Kane limped off during the first-leg of Tottenham’s Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City after a challenge from Fabian Delph. The Telegraph reported shortly after that the forward was holding out some hope that he could make the final of the competition if Spurs qualify, but it appeared that his season could well be over.
But his Tottenham teammates are doing their bit to keep their campaign going for as long as possible by knocking out Pep Guardiola’s side in the most extraordinary game on Wednesday night.
And ahead of their next game against the Cityzens, Pochettino suggested that Spurs are not giving up on Kane, but admitted that his chances remain slim.

“Still we cannot say nothing,” he said, as reported by Football London.
“We’ll assess day by day, we’ll see. We’re not optimistic but you know Harry Kane and with Harry Kane all is possible. We’re not going to say he won’t play again or not, we will assess day by day.”

While there are some Tottenham fans urging Kane to not come back too quickly, it is difficult to imagine that he will not be included in the squad if Spurs manage to get the better of Ajax in the semi-final and he is somewhere near being fully fit.
Of course, Tottenham do not need to take a gamble when they have scored eight goals in just over two games since Kane was substituted against City. But it may take a brave man to bet against Kane making an impact if Spurs do manage to beat Ajax in the last four and book their ticket to Madrid.
