Mauricio Pochettino has admitted to Football London that he hasn’t decided upon whether Tottenham Hotspur’s Argentine contingent will be able to feature against Chelsea this weekend.

Paulo Gazzaniga, Juan Foyth and Erik Lamela were all away over the international break in South America.

The trio only returned to Tottenham yesterday, meaning they are not fully rested ahead of the weekend.

And Pochettino admits that there are doubts over all three players featuring at the weekend.

“Still I cannot say nothing because we are assessing the players,” Pochettino said.

“They arrived today so early – 6 o’clock in the morning they landed here in London. It’s true they don’t rest properly in the last few days, but still today for the game we’re going to try to take the best decisions to try to be close to winning the game. That is in the end our objective.”

Gazzaniga would likely have only been Tottenham’s back-up goalkeeper at the weekend, but both Foyth and Lamela had chances of starting.

Foyth has been in superb form for Tottenham in recent weeks, after being handed his chance by Pochettino.

Lamela, meanwhile, has been one of the stars of Spurs’ season so far – with his performances earning him great credit.

If Tottenham are able to beat Chelsea at the weekend they will move above their London rivals in the Premier League table and into third place.
