The Tottenham Hotspur forward is striving to make his return from injury sooner than was first expected.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today, and provided a fitness update on Harry Kane, suggesting that the striker is close to making a return to the first-team setup, as quoted by Football.London.
The 25-year-old is arguably Spurs’ most important player, but he has been out injured since last month after injuring his ankle against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.
Tottenham are right in the mix in the race for the Premier League title, and having Kane back and available for selection will be a really timely boost for the north London outfit.
Pochettino spoke to reporters today, and hinted that Kane could be back in time for his side’s clash with Burnley at Turf Moor on February 23rd, as quoted by Football.London:

“He’s doing well, fantastic. You know him well, we need to stop everyday because he wants to be ahead of his recovery. He’s very optimistic and his determination to play as soon as possible is unbelievable. He’s doing well, if you see him he’s nearly ready to play but we need to be realistic too and in between all the areas to take the best decision. I think he’s so close to coming back. Not for Sunday or Wednesday, but we will see after.”
Kane has been quite simply superb for Tottenham since bursting onto the scene at White Hart Lane in 2014, and he has scored an incredible 160 goals in 244 appearances in all competitions.
Despite the fact that Spurs have coped well during the England international’s absence, his return to action cannot come quickly enough.
