Spurs have not made a great start to the 2017-18 Premier League campaign and need to pick up all three points from the encounter.
Everton’s performances and results so far this season have also been mixed, and the Toffees will be determined to win against Spurs.
One of the players who could feature for Everton against the North London outfit is Wayne Rooney.
The 31-year-old former England international forward is available for selection for Ronald Koeman’s side despite his current situation.
Tottenham manger Mauricio Pochettino is aware of the threat that the former Manchester United star will pose for his team if he plays.
“Not only him,” Pochettino told Football.London when asked if stopping Rooney will be a priority for Tottenham.
“We know that he’s a great player, a fantastic players, one of the best in the history of football in England.
“I think we have a lot of respect for him. But it’s true they have a great squad with different players, we need to be vigilant. Of course when we don’t have the ball, we need to be aggressive and try to stop them.”
“I think they have a great squad,” added Pochettino. “It’s true he’s a fantastic player.
“But for me football is about the squad, the team. Sure that if he misses the game, he’s important for them but they have the potential to win games without him.”
Rooney returned to Everton in the summer transfer window after achieving huge success at United.
The 31-year-old has scored two goals in three Premier League matches for Everton so far this season.
