Tottenham Hotspur won against Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told The Mirror that he was pleased with the performance of Christian Eriksen against Newcastle United at the weekend.

Eriksen featured for Tottenham in the Premier League game against Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the North London outfit registered a 2-0 victory.

The Denmark international was a key player in Spurs’ win, setting up Dele Alli for the opening goal of the match.

Tottenham manager Pochettino has praised the former Ajax star for his performance against Newcastle at St. James’ Park.

“He was fantastic,” Pochettino told The Mirror when asked for his opinion on Eriksen’s performance. “He showed his real quality. He showed his best, his best football.”

Eriksen is one of the best and most creative midfielders in the Premier League, and the Dane will be key for Tottenham this season.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder does not always start the season strongly, but his performance against Newcastle suggests that things are changing.

Tottenham will return to action this coming weekend when they take on Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium in London in the Premier League.
