Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is in the dark over contract issues.
Spurs are currently building their stadium, and there have been suggestions that the move has held up contract talks with key players.
Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld are just two of the key Tottenham’s players whose futures are slightly insecure due to their current contracts expiring in the near future.
But Pochettino claims that he is in the dark over how well contract negotiations with the pair are going.
He said: “All those questions are for Daniel. I wish one day, I would love to have Daniel next to me, answering.
”It’s a big, big problem for me to answer all those questions.
“It’s so difficult for me because he is in charge of all the financial side and terms and everything. You are allowed to criticise me when we don’t win games but in terms of the financial side, it’s not my area.
“I don’t know because only he knows.”
Spurs have tended to act in advance to ensure that they have tied down their key talent to long-term deals.
However, the situation around Alderweireld in particularly concerning.
Spurs have simply not been able to meet the Belgian’s wage demands, and now are likely to lose the centre-back for way below his market value.
Alderweireld has interested in the likes of PSG and Manchester United in recent times, but it remains to be seen whether Spurs will be open to selling him in January.
