Mauricio Pochettino has hinted to Football.London that Vincent Janssen could get his chance at Tottenham Hotspur over the coming weeks.

With Harry Kane out injured, Tottenham need to find a new man to lead the line.

Heung-Min Son and Janssen are the two most likely candidates to replace Kane in the starting line-up.

And Pochettino has hinted that both of the pair will be given opportunities in Spurs’ upcoming fixtures.

“It’s about the team,” he explained, when talking about replacing Kane.

“We have good players who sometimes deserve to play but because we pick different players that can’t. This is a great chance for people like Vincent and Sonny to play more regularly in the starting line-up.”

Kane picked up an ankle injury in Tottenham’s last match, which came against Millwall.

Son was his immediate replacement in that FA Cup contest, and the South Korean went on to net a hat-trick after being moved up-front by Pochettino.

Janssen did also come on as a late substitute, and he found the net in Spurs’ 6-0 victory – leaving Pochettino with a selection dilemma.

Tottenham’s next match comes against Southampton on Sunday, and the pressure is on them to get the three points.

Spurs are currently in second place in the Premier League table, and are looking to protect their place in the top four.
