Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is now reportedly involved in the future of Conor Gallagher, amid interest from David Moyes’s West Ham United.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was involved in the process that saw the Blues turn down a bid from West Ham United for Conor Gallagher.

The Italian journalist has claimed that the Hammers made a bid of £40 million plus add-ons for Gallagher.

Chelsea rejected the offer.

Romano has claimed that the Chelsea bosses discussed the bid with Pochettino, and they all came to the conclusion that the club will not sell Gallagher to West Ham for £40m.

West Ham still want Gallagher, though.

Romano has added that former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea are looking for at least £50 million for the 23-year-old England international midfielder.

Gallagher is a versatile player who can operate in central midfield, in a more advanced position or out wide.

The 23-year-old has made 99 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Gallagher has scored 13 goals and given six assists in those games.

It is really encouraging to see that the Chelsea bosses are discussing the future of players such as Conor Gallagher with head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

This suggests that Pochettino does and will have a big say on the incomings and outgoings at Chelsea.

And that is the way forward.

There is no point in Chelsea signing a player Pochettino does not want or selling someone that the former Tottenham Hotspur head coach wants.

Pochettino is a very good coach as well as a brilliant manager, and with him at the helm, Chelsea fans should be optimistic about a bright future.

The Blues will be determined to finish in the top four of the Premier League table next season.
