Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Camp Now to take on Barcelona in two weeks time.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s vitally important win over Inter Milan in the Champions League and pinpointed three things his side need to stand a chance of beating Barcelona in two weeks time, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs now have every chance of qualifying through to the knock-out stages of Europe’s premier competition, but they must beat Barca at the Camp Nou in order to guarantee their passage into the last 16.
Pochettino has worked wonders at Tottenham since taking over as manager in the summer of 2014, and the fact that the north London outfit are now considered to be genuine challengers for honours both domestically and on the continent is testament to the job that he has done.
The Argentine spoke to reporters last night, and admitted that player rotation over the course of the next couple of weeks will be key to his side’s hopes of beating Barcelona, as quoted by Football.London:
“To arrive at Barcelona and compete in our best we need to have fresh legs, fresh minds, no injuries. To arrive in that way in Barcelona we need to manage and we need to rotate the squad.”
Tottenham have some really tough games between now and December 11th. A home game against Southampton is sandwiched by away trips to Arsenal and Leicester City.
So Pochettino will undoubtedly have to use the full strength of his squad, if Spurs are to arrive in Catalonia at full strength.
