Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino will have to use the depth of his squad this month.
Tottenham enjoyed a wonderful night in Barcelona on Tuesday, earning a valuable point that ending up booking them their place in the knock-out stages of the competition.
Their focus will return to the Premier League this weekend, however, when they welcome Burnley to Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
Despite Tuesday night’s excellent display, there were a couple of Tottenham players who failed to shine.
Christian Eriksen and Heung-Min Son were nowhere near their best, and Erik Lamela’s introduction in the 61st minute really did seem to change the game in Spurs’ favour.
So should Pochettino start the Argentine against Burnley on Saturday?
The answer to that question is yes.
The 26-year-old was a real live-wire when he came on with half an hour still to play at the Camp Nou, and he seems ready to start from the off against the Clarets.
Poch should consider dropping Eriksen or Son, as neither really offered anything of note against Barca.
The South Korean has been in fine form on the most part, however, so he should get the nod over the Dane.
With a hectic fixture schedule ahead of them, Tottenham really need to use all of their squad, and bringing Lamela into the starting line-up on Saturday seems like a no-brainer.
