Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters after this side’s hard-fought aggregate win over Manchester City in the Champions League last night, and predicted that their semi-final clash with Ajax will be an open contest, as quoted by Football.London.

Spurs were outplayed for the majority of last night’s game, but they eventually went through on away goals, and they deserve great credit for the mental aptitude that they displayed.

Tottenham are now in the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history, and Pochettino’s side really will be thinking that anything is possible this year.

The Argentine addressed the media after last night’s dramatic result, and responded when asked what he expects from Ajax in the semi-final at the end of this month, as quoted by Football.London:

“Football is unpredictable and the way Ajax play, I predict it is going to be an open game, very offensive game and very exciting game. It will be a fantastic two legs and I am ready to enjoy a game like I enjoy it tonight and one week ago.”

Tottenham still have three Premier League games to play before they host Ajax on April 30th, and Pochettino will be desperate for his side to have Champions League football all but secured for next season before heading into the clash with the Dutch outfit.

Spurs are on the verge of achieving something very special, but whether they have enough in the tank to make history remains to be seen.
