Perform immediately or you are out… a clear message is being sent by Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino has a reputation for being one of the best coaches in the Premier League – but he is also showing himself as one of the most ruthless.
This is not necessarily a bad trait, but it is one which is emphasised with the way he is preparing to axe Clinton N’Jie after just one season.
N’Jie barely played due to injury, yet he is on his way out anyway. The Mail report Pochettino has seen enough and wants rid.

It is not the first time Pochettino has acted ruthlessly regarding players he has signed. Benjamin Stambouli also lasted only one season at the club before being sold back to Ligue 1.
Fedcerico Fazio also effectively lasted only one campaign in favour too, sidelined last season, not picked for a single Premier League game.
Yet it will be the N’Jie sale which will be freshest in the mind, and act as the latest warning, and one which should resonate among the incoming players.

Netherlands’ Vincent Janssen in action with England’s John Stones
The message to the club’s new boys Victor Wanyama, Vincent Janssen and imminently Georges-Kevin N’Koudou is clear: Perform immediately, or you are out.
In Daniel Levy, Spurs have a chairman who is effective at negotiating player sales at a good price, and this means financially the club can sell the players on after just 12 months for barely any loss, and re-invest in an alternative.
Wanyama may have more of a lease because he has played under Pochettino before at Southampton, but Janssen and N’Koudou should be aware they are on notice from day one, to prove they can contribute.
