Tottenham Hotspur are right in the mix in the race for the Premier League title.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters after his side’s fantastic 5-0 win over Bournemouth yesterday, and shared how the one thing that his players have had all season is belief in their ability, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs have been in simply brilliant form recently, winning eight of their last nine Premier League games, and they now sit in second spot in the table, just six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.
Pochettino deserves so much credit for the manner in which he has his Tottenham side firing on all cylinders, especially considering the fact that he didn’t sign a single player during the summer transfer window.
The Argentine addressed the media after yesterday’s comfortable win over the Cherries, and insisted that the belief that his players have has been crucial to their impressive campaign thus far, as quoted by Football.London:
“One thing that we have is the belief in the squad, all of them young or senior players. We always believe that we can improve and always believe that we can learn. In six months we never complain about anything. We no complain about no signings, we no complain about the stadium, we no complain about the fixture, we no complain about come to play at Wembley – many, many things. But one thing we have kept is the belief and been positive.”
Next up for Tottenham is another home game, this time against Wolves, before they travel to Cardiff City on New Year’s Day, and a return of six points from those two games would surely have everyone talking about Pochettino’s side as genuine title contenders.
