The Tottenham Hotspur star has been linked with a move away form the club recently.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday, and admitted that he wants Christian Eriksen to stay at the club, although he insisted that if the Dane wants to leave, he must be able to do what he wants to do, as quoted by Football.London.
The 26-year-old joined Spurs from Ajax in the summer of 2013, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £12.5 million, and he has gone on to be a real success in north London, chalking up an impressive 62 goals and 78 assists in 251 appearances in all competitions.
Eriksen’s current contract expires in the summer of 2020, however, and Tottenham will surely be desperate to tie the play-maker down to a new long-term deal.
Pochettino told reporters how he hopes to keep hold of the Denmark international, but admitted that the final decision will be down to the player himself, as quoted by Football.London:

“Of course Christian Eriksen is such an important player for Tottenham and of course as a person or as a professional coach or manager, you would like to have this type of player with you. It will be fantastic if Christian Eriksen is going to be committed with the club for a long-term, and if not it’s his right to do what he wants to do.”
Tottenham seem to be on the crest of achieving something very special, and their chances of ending their 58 year wait for a top flight title will depend heavily on their ability to keep hold of Eriksen over the next few seasons.
With the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid thought to be hovering, however, that might just be easer said than done.
